Tears of Sorrow and Joy
They say every ending is a new beginning. Its true, but sometimes the end is hard.
After having finished saying almost all my goodbyes I am in Nairobi preparing to leave.
With preparing I have been going through pictures bringing back memories and many emotions of joy, laughter, struggles and love.
Here's a small taste of these memories.
The photo below is the street I lived on. There's no street name or number. Address are given by landmarks.
On the right are Bilga and Hadassah. Neighbour kids who kept the home lively and fun.
During my last day of work, and fair well, most staff were gone but we celebrated non the less!
Wanza was once an MCC volunteer in the US who became a great friend! We made many miles traveling on my motorcycle visiting farmers.
A day in the field doing food relief.
Rosemary was one of our top farmers and a joy to be around!SASOL took a trip to the ocean to relax and enjoy friendships.
Cause why not carry a table on a bike??
To the left is a typical latrine found at most homes.
To the right, carrying corn stalk for the cattle
After soccer training one day we made a stop at a photo booth. Never short of good times in Kitui!
Western Kenya's lush, beautiful landscapes
I could have lived at the Indian Ocean. It was relaxing and beautiful!
A highlight was going on a safari and visiting some amazing wildlife with family.
Meg was a wonderful MCC staffer who always had a warm bed for me to sleep in when I visited Nairobi.
Top left: the girls at school loved when they could play with my hair.
Top right and bottom: a few great friends I miss dearly
This really is a very small taste of the wonderful year. Many good memories, hard times and joys I will treasure forever.
